History of Arrabawn Co op.

Founded following the merger of Nenagh Co-op and Mid West Farmers Co-op in 2001, Arrabawn Co-op has its origins firmly anchored in Irish co-operative movement which has been evolving for more than a century.

Nenagh Co-op and Mid West Farmer’s Co-op were founded in 1913 and 1963 respectively. Throughout the decades that followed both Nenagh Co-op and Mid West Farmer’s Co-op grew as a result of acquisitions, organic growth and a series of amalgamations with local creameries. Dan O’Connor Feeds was a notable addition to the Animal Feeds Division in 1990.

In 2004 a state of the art milk production facility was purpose built in Kilconnell, Co. Galway.

The feeds portfolio was further increased in 2006 with the purchase of Greenvale Animal Feeds.

In 2010 Arrabawn Co-op purchased Dawn Dairies in Galway and integrated the business into the milk processing facility in Kilconnell.
